A Little Rain, A Lot of Joy | Kayla & Eric’s Beachside Wedding

Kayla and Eric’s wedding at the iconic The Don CeSar felt less like a wedding and more like the kind of movie you never want to end. The kind where everyone is laughing too loud, dancing barefoot, hugging every five minutes, and pretending they are “just going to have one drink” before somehow ending up on the dance floor until the very last song.

From the second I arrived, I could already feel it, this wasn’t going to be one of those overly serious, perfectly posed weddings where everyone is afraid to wrinkle their clothes. This was joy. Real joy. The kind that fills a room instantly and makes even the vendors feel like family by the end of the night. As a photographer, I honestly felt honored to be part of such a special day. Kayla and Eric have this warmth about them that makes everyone around them feel included, relaxed, and loved. Their energy was contagious in the best possible way.

And can we talk about Kayla for a second? Because wow. She looked like she had walked straight out of a fairytale. Not in the cliché Pinterest way, in the “how is this person actually real?” kind of way. Between the ocean breeze, the dreamy pink tones of the Don CeSar, and her dress moving perfectly with the wind, she looked absolutely unreal.

But honestly? The most beautiful thing that day was Eric’s face every single time he looked at her. His eyes absolutely lit up. And here’s the funny part, the weather decided it also wanted to be dramatic and emotionally involved in the wedding. Florida weather truly said, “You know what this ceremony needs? Plot twists.”

Right around ceremony time, the skies started changing faster than anyone could keep up with. The rain arrived exactly when sunset portraits were supposed to happen because apparently the weather had its own agenda that day. But instead of panicking, these two laughed through it all like absolute champions.

And yes… I absolutely convinced them to stand in the rain on the hotel terrace for sunset photos anyway. Photographer priorities. While everyone else was trying to stay dry, there we were on the rooftop terrace of the Don CeSar chasing whatever tiny bit of sunset light Florida decided to generously leave us. I’m pretty sure at one point I said something along the lines of, “Trust me, this suffering is temporary but the photos are forever.” Thankfully, Kayla and Eric are the kind of couple who make everything fun, so instead of stressing about the weather, they embraced it completely.

Honestly? It ended up feeling cinematic. The wind, the rain, the dramatic sky behind them, Kayla looking like an actual fairytale princess, and Eric staring at her like she was the only thing in the world that existed. Even with the storm rolling through and rain washing over the terrace, his expression when he looked at her was still the brightest thing there.

Their story started in the most modern way possible, meeting on Hinge and having their first date at an arcade in Cambridge. Which honestly makes perfect sense once you meet them because they genuinely are best friends first. You can feel it in every interaction. They laugh constantly, tease each other nonstop, and move through life like two people who truly enjoy simply existing together. Whether they are cooking at home, traveling somewhere new, trying restaurants, or just going on walks together, they bring lightness into each other’s lives in such a natural way.

Their wedding reflected exactly who they are: relaxed, fun, emotional, beachy, stylish without trying too hard, and centered around the people they love most. Nothing felt forced. Nothing felt performative. It felt real. And those are always the weddings that stay with me long after the galleries are delivered.

By the end of the night, everyone’s hair had officially surrendered to the humidity, shoes had disappeared somewhere near the dance floor, and nobody cared anymore because the energy was just that good. It was one of those weddings where you leave exhausted, emotionally invested, and ridiculously grateful you got to witness it.

Kayla and Eric, thank you for letting me be part of your story. Your wedding was beautiful, emotional, hilarious, full of unexpected weather drama, and absolutely unforgettable in every possible way.

Allison + Aaron Step Into The Limelight | The Don CeSar | St. Pete Beach, FL

There’s something magical about getting married by the ocean, the way the wind insists on being part of the celebration, the way the sunlight hugs every smile, and the way some couples manage to turn two ceremonies into the perfect script for a romantic comedy. That’s exactly what Allison and Aaron created: an elopement filled with laughter, unforgettable moments, and the iconic charm of The Don Cesar, where the hotel’s perfect shade of pink matched the glow these two carried all day.

Allison and Aaron met in college at Auburn University, of course they did. Where else would two adventurous souls who love hiking, traveling, and working out together cross paths? And after many journeys side by side, Aaron proposed on top of a mountain in Asheville, NC. Truly the perfect setting… though the real plot twist of the wedding day was him not convincing Allison to jump into the pool afterward. Allison, I’m sorry… but we need to acknowledge that would have been a legendary photo.

Their wedding day was everything they dreamed of: intimate, family-centered, beachy, and relaxed… well, almost relaxed. Because after any beautiful ceremony, there’s always that little adventure — and for Allison, it came in the form of the classic “real bride moment”: her dress got dirty in the car. And yes, Allison, I sincerely feel for you… but it was so worth it. Because we got the photo. And photos last forever, while wedding dresses go to the dry cleaners and return pretending nothing ever happened. Now you not only have gorgeous images, you also have a great story to tell every holiday from now on.

The first ceremony on the beach was everything they hoped for, simple, emotional, full of salty breeze and surrounded by the people who matter most. For Allison, having her family there was the heart of everything. Then we headed to The Don Cesar for round two (yes, this wedding had chapters): private vows, deep emotion, and that perfect historic charm they love so much. Honestly, having two ceremonies is kind of like working out at the gym… just when you think you’re done, surprise, another set.

What made this elopement so truly them? They didn’t want attention, spectacle, or anything extravagant. They wanted something real. Something intimate. Something meaningful. A small ceremony in a historic Florida beach town with charm, color, and a lot of personality, just like them.

Two ceremonies, one slightly dirty dress, countless laughs, and a love story that began in college and turned into a forever promise by the sea, right in front of the most iconic pink hotel in St. Pete.

Allison and Aaron, thank you for letting me capture and tell this beautiful story. And I promise… next time, I’ll be on Aaron’s side, cheering for the pool jump.

Congratulations!

With love,

A Picture-Perfect Engagement Session at the Don CeSar 💗

Kayla and Eric’s engagement session was nothing short of magical, set against the iconic backdrop of the Don CeSar, affectionately known as the Pink Palace. This legendary location on St. Pete Beach provided the perfect mix of romance, history, and that signature Florida charm. 🌴

The day blessed us with cooler weather and a dramatic blanket of clouds, creating the perfect natural canvas. As if on cue, the sun peeked through at just the right moment, bathing the couple in a stunning golden glow. 🌅 Their love for each other was truly radiant, shining brighter than the sunset itself.

From intimate moments by the shore to playful strolls in front of the Don CeSar’s grand pink façade, Kayla and Eric brought so much joy and energy to their session. Every pose, every glance, and every smile told a story of two hearts perfectly aligned.

The Don CeSar’s timeless elegance and vibrant atmosphere made it clear why it’s a favorite among preferred vendors for St. Pete weddings. This gem of a location perfectly complemented Kayla and Eric’s love story and provided a dreamy setting for their St. Pete Beach engagement session.

As St. Pete wedding photographers, moments like these are what we live for—capturing the raw, unfiltered love between two people in a location as magical as this. We can’t wait to reveal their full gallery and watch them tie the knot soon! 💍

Almery + Zachary Step Into The Limelight | THE DON CESAR | ST. PETERSBURG, FL

Happily ever after…

During my first call with Almery, she said that their wedding day, though it would be beautiful, joyous and family/friend-filled, wouldn’t be the biggest day of their lives—because they are there for each other every day of the year. I really love that.

Almery and Zach are both ambitious, family-orientated people, meaning that their wedding day was not only incredible and decorated like something out of a wedding magazine, but also that they were surrounded with friends + family who traveled from abroad to witness their union (as Almery is from Argentina), lots of smiles and hugs, and loved ones bursting with celebration!

These two first met in December of 2019 on Hinge. Their first date was actually in Almery’s restaurant in Tampa and she cooked while they had their date (I told you they were ambitious!). In September of 2021 is when they got engaged in the most romantic way ever… during a hot air balloon ride over Disney!

Everything from their engagement story, to their wedding day vows and friends’ speeches shows you how kind these two are. How in love they are! We adore this beautiful pair and wish them a lifetime of success, in both love and in their business!

Congrats to the Morrison’s!

Corelli + Radford Step Into The Limelight | The Don Cesar | St. Petersburg, FL

Corelli & Radford… such a beautiful LOVE!

This stunning couple met in 1994 through a long term family friendship. They kept in touch over the years and finally reconnected in 2019 where their friendship grew into a very special relationship. Corelli & Radford both love that they are both loving, caring, free spirited, passionate and family oriented.  Family means everything to them & you could tell on their wedding day how much they loved & cared for each family member! From shopping, going to theme parks and sporting events to listening to different genres of music and going to church, Corelli & Radford simply love doing life together!

Our beautiful couple held their wedding at the one & only Don Cesar! They loved the Historical and tropical beachfront elegance that the Don Cesar has so it was a stunning venue for their special day.

Their entire wedding day was based on the true meaning of forever love which is friendship, trust, genuine love & family values. Corelli & Radford also incorporated butterflies all through their wedding decor to represent new beginnings! 🦋 Everything was truly so beautiful!

During the ceremony, Corelli sang a sweet & beautiful song to Radford which touched everyone’s hearts! Family was at the center of this day and it was so amazing to see this beautiful family come together to celebrate the love of this bride and groom.  🥰

Despite the unpredictable weather we were still blessed with a STUNNING sunset over St. Pete Beach! Corelli and Radford ✨shined✨during this sunset session as they simply enjoyed the moment and each other. They both make each other so happy and that was evident during their entire day.

Corelli & Radford, we wish you a lifetime of LOVE! 🥂♥️
