A Sunset Boat Engagement Session in Tampa | Krissy & Gunnar
There are some engagement sessions that feel less like a photoshoot and more like spending an evening with friends, and that was exactly the feeling during Krissy and Gunnar’s engagement session aboard the Tampa Water Limo | Dulcinea.
From the moment we stepped onto the boat, I knew this session was going to be something special. The entire experience was so them. Relaxed, adventurous, full of laughter, and completely focused on enjoying the moment together. As their engagement photographer in Tampa, I always love getting the opportunity to truly connect with my couples before their wedding day, and this evening gave us exactly that.
Krissy and Gunnar’s love story began in 2024 in the most unexpected way. Gunnar’s mom secretly set them up on a date without either of them knowing. Safe to say she knew exactly what she was doing because these two instantly connected. Their relationship has been built around adventure, laughter, and not taking life too seriously. Whether they are wakeboarding, traveling, or simply enjoying life together, their playful connection is something you can feel immediately.
Their proposal was just as romantic. Gunnar planned what Krissy thought was a simple date night in Clearwater with her best friend, but as the sun began setting over the beach, he surprised her with the question that would begin their next chapter together.
For their engagement session, there could not have been a more fitting location than the water. The weather forecast had us a little nervous because Florida weather always likes to keep us guessing, but we trusted Captain Matt, stayed patient, and were rewarded with the most beautiful sunset over Tampa Bay. The golden skies, gentle waves, and peaceful atmosphere created the perfect backdrop for their Tampa engagement photography session.
One of my favorite parts of this session was simply getting to know Krissy and Gunnar. We spent the evening talking, laughing, and creating candid moments that truly reflected who they are as a couple. Those genuine interactions are what I love most about photojournalistic photography, capturing the real smiles, quiet moments, and memories that will bring them right back to this season of their lives.
