Mattina & Colby | Upham Beach Engagement Session

Mattina and Colby brought the kind of laughter that makes a photographer’s job way too easy. Their Upham Beach engagement session in St. Pete Beach was full of sandy toes, inside jokes, and a sunset that completely stole the show.

Upham Beach gave us its best: soft white sand, gentle Gulf waves, sea oats dancing in the breeze, and those iconic rock formations that add just the right amount of drama. Mattina and Colby fit right in, wandering along the shore and laughing every time we turned the camera their way.

Golden Hour, But Make It Fun

As the sun dipped toward the water, the sky lit up in shades of gold, peach, and pink. Mattina and Colby soaked in every minute of it—walking hand in hand, stealing kisses, and giggling like nobody was watching.

Every prompt turned into a new round of laughter. Colby would crack a joke, Mattina would dissolve into giggles, and suddenly we had a dozen candid moments we could not wait to share. Their playful connection made the entire session feel like a date night on the beach.

Rocks, Waves & Endless Smiles

We spent time among Upham Beach’s signature rocks, where the textured shoreline made the perfect backdrop for their portraits. With waves rolling in behind them and the sunset glowing over the Gulf, Mattina and Colby looked completely smitten—and completely themselves.

Amanda + Ryan Step Into The Limelight | St. Armands Circle & Lido Beach | Sarasota, FL

Amanda and Ryan’s story started through family and friends. Ryan’s brother began dating a girl who eventually moved to Wisconsin, and Amanda became friends with her. They met through that connection, but it wasn’t until later that friends started telling them, “You two should get together.” Eventually, they listened. Two years later, here they are.

About a year ago, Amanda and Ryan made the move to Sarasota after career opportunities brought them from Wisconsin to Florida. Now, they’re getting ready to start another chapter together, this time as husband and wife.

Their October 1st wedding will take place at the Sarasota County Historic Courthouse. Built in 1926, the courthouse features beautiful Spanish and Mediterranean Revival architecture, making it an intimate and memorable setting for their wedding day.

For their engagement session, we spent the evening around St. Armands Circle before heading over to Lido Beach. Amanda and Ryan were so easy to be around, and we had a lot of fun together throughout the session. By the time we made it to the beach, the evening light was absolutely perfect.

They’re also hoping their two dogs, a nine year old pup and a much newer addition to the family, can be part of their wedding day. It sounds like October 1st is going to be a pretty special one for this family.

We had a great time with Amanda and Ryan and can’t wait to see them again October 1st.

Madison + Daniel Step Into The Limelight | Sand Key Park | Clearwater, FL

After weeks of rain, the sunshine finally made its way back… and it couldn’t have arrived at a more perfect time for Madison and Daniel’s engagement session at Sand Key Beach.

With beautiful skies, a gentle beach breeze, and the kind of golden light every photographer dreams of, the evening felt like it was made just for them. But as gorgeous as the setting was, it was the connection between Madison and Daniel that truly made this session unforgettable.

From the very beginning, the two of them were completely comfortable together. There was an effortless ease in the way they laughed, held each other, and simply enjoyed being together. Their love didn’t need to be posed or prompted; it was there in every glance, every smile, and every little moment they shared.

Sand Key Beach provided the perfect backdrop for their session, from the soft shoreline to the open sky and warm evening light. We spent the evening capturing the genuine moments between them—the laughter, the quiet embraces, and all the little interactions that made their relationship feel so authentic.

One of my favorite things about engagement sessions is getting to capture a couple exactly as they are, and Madison and Daniel made that incredibly easy. Their chemistry was undeniable, and it was clear throughout the entire session just how much they adore one another.

After weeks of rainy weather, having such a beautiful evening was the perfect reminder that sometimes, the best moments are worth waiting for.

Nas + Daniel Step Into The Limelight | The Ritz-Carlton | Naples, FL

An Invisible String Across Continents | Nas & Daniel's Ritz-Carlton Naples Engagement Session

Some stories feel like they were meant to happen.

Daniel, who is originally from Germany, was in Boston for work with the airline he flies for. At the time, his Bumble profile was still set to German. Nas, who was also born and raised in Germany but living in Boston, came across his profile and sent him a simple message asking if he spoke German.

That one question sparked an instant connection. They had both grown up in Germany, less than 50 miles apart, yet it took a city thousands of miles from home for their paths to finally cross. There has been an invisible string connecting them all along, quietly weaving its way across countries and continents until the timing was finally right.

Two years later, they found themselves at The Ritz-Carlton in Naples, Florida, celebrating the next chapter of that story during their engagement session. There's a reason The Ritz-Carlton has become such a well-known destination on Florida's Gulf Coast. Between the classic architecture, tropical landscaping, and easy access to one of the area's beautiful beaches, every corner of the property offers something different. It was the perfect backdrop for an evening that felt both elegant and effortless.

As the sun disappeared over the Gulf, it was hard not to appreciate just how remarkable their story really is. We can't wait to celebrate with Nas and Daniel again on their wedding day in December at Sale e Pepe.

BreAnna + Sebastian Step Into The Limelight | Duff's Buffet | Clearwater, FL

Love on the Menu

They say the best love stories start in unexpected places. Some meet on dating apps, others at a friend’s party… but these two? They found love between the clatter of plates, the scent of garlic butter, and the glow of a kitchen stove.

He’s the chef.

She’s the waitress.

They’ve been working side by side for years, slicing, dicing, serving, laughing, and somewhere between the daily specials and late-night cleanups, their friendship began to simmer… and slowly, beautifully, it came to a boil.

Now they’re engaged, and come November, they’ll be serving up their biggest dish yet: a wedding.

So of course, when it came time for their engagement session, there was no better setting than the restaurant where it all began. I mean, why not take photos right where their love story was literally cooked up?

Let me just say, this wasn’t your average engagement shoot. There were aprons. There was flour in the air. There were moments where I swear I saw actual sparks flying, and not just from the stove. He kept sneaking glances at her while prepping vegetables, and she? She couldn’t stop smiling while handing him plates like she’s done a thousand times before, except now, every gesture felt like poetry.

They are a team, not just in the kitchen, but in life. He still cooks for her (yes, ladies, he cooks!), and she still serves him, with love in her eyes and a side of sass. Watching them together, you get it immediately, these two were made to be a pair. Like wine and pasta. Like butter and garlic. Like chef and waitress.

What touched me the most during our session wasn’t just how effortlessly they moved together, it was the way they looked at each other. Their eyes glowed like the open flame on the stove: warm, steady, full of life. And here’s the thing about eyes, they never lie.

He is patient, gentle, and a true gentleman, a rare gem in any era, but especially today.

She is extraordinary. There’s a light in her that fills the room. She’s authentic, kind, joyful, and wildly magnetic. In just a few hours, I felt like I’d known them for years. That’s how strong their energy is, it wraps around you like the smell of fresh bread out of the oven.

As a photographer, I feel so honored to have captured their story in the place where it began. This wasn’t just a session, it was a celebration of real love, of laughter in the little things, of shared dreams and late nights and “just one more bite.” It was a reminder that the best recipes are the ones written in the heart.

And in November… I’ll be back to tell the story of their wedding day. Stay tuned, I promise, it’s going to be delicious.
