Kayla + Eric Step Into The Limelight | The Don CeSar | St. Pete, FL

A Little Rain, A Lot of Joy | Kayla & Eric’s Beachside Wedding

Kayla and Eric’s wedding at the iconic The Don CeSar felt less like a wedding and more like the kind of movie you never want to end. The kind where everyone is laughing too loud, dancing barefoot, hugging every five minutes, and pretending they are “just going to have one drink” before somehow ending up on the dance floor until the very last song.

From the second I arrived, I could already feel it, this wasn’t going to be one of those overly serious, perfectly posed weddings where everyone is afraid to wrinkle their clothes. This was joy. Real joy. The kind that fills a room instantly and makes even the vendors feel like family by the end of the night. As a photographer, I honestly felt honored to be part of such a special day. Kayla and Eric have this warmth about them that makes everyone around them feel included, relaxed, and loved. Their energy was contagious in the best possible way.

And can we talk about Kayla for a second? Because wow. She looked like she had walked straight out of a fairytale. Not in the cliché Pinterest way, in the “how is this person actually real?” kind of way. Between the ocean breeze, the dreamy pink tones of the Don CeSar, and her dress moving perfectly with the wind, she looked absolutely unreal.

But honestly? The most beautiful thing that day was Eric’s face every single time he looked at her. His eyes absolutely lit up. And here’s the funny part, the weather decided it also wanted to be dramatic and emotionally involved in the wedding. Florida weather truly said, “You know what this ceremony needs? Plot twists.”

Right around ceremony time, the skies started changing faster than anyone could keep up with. The rain arrived exactly when sunset portraits were supposed to happen because apparently the weather had its own agenda that day. But instead of panicking, these two laughed through it all like absolute champions.

And yes… I absolutely convinced them to stand in the rain on the hotel terrace for sunset photos anyway. Photographer priorities. While everyone else was trying to stay dry, there we were on the rooftop terrace of the Don CeSar chasing whatever tiny bit of sunset light Florida decided to generously leave us. I’m pretty sure at one point I said something along the lines of, “Trust me, this suffering is temporary but the photos are forever.” Thankfully, Kayla and Eric are the kind of couple who make everything fun, so instead of stressing about the weather, they embraced it completely.

Honestly? It ended up feeling cinematic. The wind, the rain, the dramatic sky behind them, Kayla looking like an actual fairytale princess, and Eric staring at her like she was the only thing in the world that existed. Even with the storm rolling through and rain washing over the terrace, his expression when he looked at her was still the brightest thing there.

Their story started in the most modern way possible, meeting on Hinge and having their first date at an arcade in Cambridge. Which honestly makes perfect sense once you meet them because they genuinely are best friends first. You can feel it in every interaction. They laugh constantly, tease each other nonstop, and move through life like two people who truly enjoy simply existing together. Whether they are cooking at home, traveling somewhere new, trying restaurants, or just going on walks together, they bring lightness into each other’s lives in such a natural way.

Their wedding reflected exactly who they are: relaxed, fun, emotional, beachy, stylish without trying too hard, and centered around the people they love most. Nothing felt forced. Nothing felt performative. It felt real. And those are always the weddings that stay with me long after the galleries are delivered.

By the end of the night, everyone’s hair had officially surrendered to the humidity, shoes had disappeared somewhere near the dance floor, and nobody cared anymore because the energy was just that good. It was one of those weddings where you leave exhausted, emotionally invested, and ridiculously grateful you got to witness it.

Kayla and Eric, thank you for letting me be part of your story. Your wedding was beautiful, emotional, hilarious, full of unexpected weather drama, and absolutely unforgettable in every possible way.

Meghan + John Step Into The Limelight | Don CeSar, FL

Meghan and John | A Romantic Escape at The Don CeSar

Some love stories begin with fireworks. Meghan and John’s started in a college bar called Almost Heaven near West Virginia University, the kind of place where friendships form quickly and nights stretch longer than planned. What began as a casual meeting among friends grew into something steady and lasting, built on kindness, humor, and a shared vision for the future.

Their relationship has always been rooted in the simple joys of being together. Exploring dive bars, golfing on sunny afternoons, competitive board game nights at home, and a rhythm that suits them perfectly. Meghan bakes, John happily eats, and somewhere in those everyday moments their life together took shape. When John planned a surprise trip to Key West and proposed, it felt like a natural next step in a story already filled with adventure and intention.

Choosing The Don CeSar for their wedding was effortless. The historic beachfront hotel, affectionately known as Florida’s Pink Palace, has stood along the Gulf since 1928, welcoming generations seeking beauty, celebration, and escape. With its soft pink façade rising above white sand beaches and endless ocean views, it offered Meghan and John exactly what they envisioned. A sweet, calm, intimate wedding getaway where their closest family and friends could relax, celebrate, and feel fully present.

The day unfolded with a quiet sense of anticipation. Meghan spent the morning getting ready surrounded by her closest friends, laughter and excitement filling the room as the reality of the day settled in. Down the aisle waited John, ready for the moment he would see his fiancée for the first time. That walk toward him became one of the most emotional parts of the entire celebration, a moment where everything else faded away.

Their ceremony reflected the heart of their relationship. Honest, romantic, and deeply personal. The exchange of rings, their first kiss as husband and wife, and the joy of walking back up the aisle together marked the beginning of a new chapter shared not just between them, but with everyone gathered to witness it.

Inspired by the romance of Beauty and the Beast, the wedding balanced elegance with warmth. Beach influences softened the atmosphere, allowing the day to feel elevated without ever losing its relaxed spirit. Guests settled easily into the celebration, embracing the feeling Meghan and John hoped to create. Relaxed, happy, loved, and completely on vacation.

The details that stood out were the ones made with care. Meghan crafted custom petit fours as wedding favors, a personal touch that reflected her love of baking and her desire to thank guests in a meaningful way. Quiet private portraits gave the couple time to breathe together amid the excitement, while moments like the cake cutting and shared laughter throughout the evening became memories as meaningful as any grand tradition.

Nothing about the wedding felt forced or overly styled. Its uniqueness came from authenticity. Meghan and John focused on what mattered most. Seeing each other’s reactions down the aisle. Holding hands as they were introduced as husband and wife. Stealing small moments together while surrounded by celebration.

As the sun set over the Gulf and the historic halls of The Don CeSar filled with music and conversation, the day settled into exactly what they had imagined. Not just a wedding, but an experience. A gathering rooted in love, friendship, and the quiet certainty that they had found their forever in one another.

Meghan and John’s wedding was not defined by spectacle. It was defined by feeling. A romantic escape, a joyful beginning, and a beautiful reminder that sometimes the best love stories start in ordinary places and lead somewhere extraordinary.

It was a day that reminded everyone present that sometimes the most powerful moments aren’t the biggest gestures but the quiet ones, when two people decide to build a life together, step by step, surrounded by those who believe in them most. Meghan and John didn’t just marry that day, they invited their loved ones into a future defined by kindness, laughter, and endless possibilities. And at The Don CeSar, beneath that pink glow and the endless Gulf breeze, their story became a beautiful memory we’ll all remember.

Andrew + Taylor Step Into The Limelight | The Don CeSar | St. Pete Beach, FL

A Magical Surprise Proposal at The Don CeSar

I think I was more excited than anyone else that day. I had been dreaming of this moment ever since the plan started to take shape, everything felt magical. While Andrew and Taylor were enjoying their anniversary trip, I was secretly exchanging messages with Andrew and his mom, going over every little detail of the surprise proposal. It was such an emotional experience that I had to hold back my tears just to stay focused behind the lens and do justice to this beautiful moment.

The location? None other than The Don CeSar, the iconic pink palace on St. Pete Beach, Florida, one of the most romantic places for a proposal or wedding photography session.

I remember hiding behind the hotel's lush florals (yes, literally hiding behind the flowers LOL), trying not to shake from excitement. Then, I saw them. Andrew and Taylor slowly descended the grand staircase, and I held my breath. The anticipation in Andrew’s eyes, the joy in Taylor’s smile, it all built up to that one unforgettable second when he got down on one knee.

Taylor’s reaction was absolutely priceless. That mix of surprise, happiness, and pure love was something I’ll never forget. Even with a cloudy sky and light rain, the moment felt golden. For us photographers, overcast skies actually bring out the most flattering light—and Taylor’s radiant smile was bright enough to light up the entire hotel. Honestly, I was grinning behind the camera the whole time, feeling like I was witnessing the beginning of a fairytale.

Andrew and Taylor live in North Carolina and had come to The Don CeSar to celebrate their four-year anniversary. Little did Taylor know she’d be leaving as a fiancée! Andrew had been planning this for weeks, and you could just feel his relief and joy once he finally asked the big question. Taylor was glowing, already beautiful and now engaged, the love between them was undeniable.

This was the first surprise proposal I’ve ever photographed, and I can say without a doubt it was one of the most emotional and rewarding experiences of my career. Being part of this milestone was not only an honor, but a reminder of why I love what I do. Capturing love stories, especially those as heartfelt as this, is what makes being a wedding photographer so meaningful.

If you're planning your own engagement or wedding, I can’t recommend The Don CeSar enough for romantic photo sessions, it’s a dream location! And if you're looking for a team to capture your love story with authenticity and passion, Limelight Photography is here to help you create memories that last a lifetime.

Congratulations, Andrew and Taylor! May your journey together be filled with laughter, adventure, and endless smiles.

With love,
Natalia

Danielle + David Step Into The Limelight | THE DON CESAR | ST. PETERSBURG, FL

Sincere, classy and sweet…

Danielle and David had originally prepared to tie the knot in October, until Hurricane Ian had other plans. These two were resilient with adapting to a new wedding date and keeping their focus on the happiness they would feel to finally be married and surrounded by all of the people they love most.

Danielle and David met over 10 years ago while Danielle was working at her family’s hotel… they were friends for a good handful of years and it wasn’t until a lunch date where something clicked for them. Danielle said that she thought she was in the friend-zone, but David says that she never was.

These two compliment each other beautifully, both with a love for furry friends and a passion of fostering them. Prior to their wedding, their sweet pup Bear passed away, but they honored him at their reception memory table and even had a little pin with a picture of Bear. Bear was definitely there in spirit. Together, Danielle and David also love fitness and being outdoors—which is perfect because they live in beautiful St. Pete!

Though these two have been living and loving life together for a while now, we hope that they experience nothing but sweetness in the years to come through their marriage. We are so happy for Danielle and David! Cheers!
