Allison and Garret’s wedding day was the perfect fusion of timeless tradition and carefree coastal celebration. From a classic church ceremony to a golden hour beach wedding reception, every moment was effortlessly elegant and full of personality—an unforgettable St. Pete wedding photography experience from beginning to end.

The day began with heartfelt vows at the Cathedral of St. Jude the Apostle, a stunning backdrop for their sacred ceremony. With sunlight filtering through the stained glass and emotions running high, it was a moment that beautifully grounded their day in tradition.

After the ceremony, the celebration shifted to the Sirata Beach Resort—a beloved gem for beach weddings in St. Pete. Just steps from the shoreline, this beachfront venue offered breathtaking views of the Gulf and an ideal setting for sunset portraits.

As the sun dipped low, we captured a golden hour session that radiated pure magic. With gentle sea breezes, pastel skies, and Allison’s veil catching the light just right, every photo told the story of their love with candid elegance. These golden hour portraits were a true highlight, showcasing why St. Pete wedding photography is so renowned for its natural beauty.

The reception at Sirata was a joyful blend of tropical fun and personal touches, brought to life by Driftwood Weddings and Events and a dream team of vendors. From the neutral florals by Wonderland Floral Art, to the a smooth and sweet first dance thanks to Grant Hemond & Associates’ Jason Talley, the night flowed with laughter, celebration, and love.

From the moment I met Blair and Steven, I could feel their deep bond—calm, easygoing, and full of genuine joy. As the lead photographer for Limelight Photography, I often witness incredible love stories, but theirs stood out as something truly special. Their wedding day was the perfect blend of intimacy, emotion, and relaxed coastal charm—everything they had dreamed of.

Their love story began in the most unexpected way: though they had gone to school together their whole lives, it wasn’t until a chance encounter while duck hunting in 2022 that they reconnected. A month later, they started chatting—and from there, “the rest is history,” as Blair sweetly puts it. Their proposal story was equally serendipitous. While on a family trip to Yellowstone, Steven found the perfect moment by a quiet waterfall, away from the crowds. With just Blair’s family nearby, he proposed in the most heartfelt and personal way, asking for forever in a place filled with natural beauty.

Their wedding day echoed that same simplicity and sincerity. Set at the gorgeous DoubleTree by Hilton Tampa Rocky Point Waterfront, with the celebration continuing at Whiskey Joe’s, the day felt more like a vacation with loved ones than a traditional wedding—exactly as they envisioned. The ceremony was intimate, with only immediate family gathered by the water. Everyone was dressed in light, breezy styles—florals for the women and khaki or linen for the men—reflecting the couple’s love for the outdoors and the ocean.

Blair’s minimal and elegant vision came to life with touches of white and greenery that complemented the waterfront setting perfectly. Their ceremony was peaceful and filled with meaning, and after the vows, we took time to capture timeless family portraits and heartfelt moments with those closest to them.

Later in the day, we headed over to Whiskey Joe’s for the golden hour photos, and let me just say—wow. The soft, glowing light reflecting off the water created the dreamiest backdrop for their couple portraits. Their joy and connection came through effortlessly, and these images became some of my favorites of the entire day. As someone who specializes in wedding photography in Tampa Florida, golden hour at Whiskey Joe’s is an absolute dream to photograph.

There are some weddings that just feel like magic from the moment you arrive—and Sheena, Aden, and Ryan’s special day was exactly that. Set at the stunning Sirata Beach Resort, their celebration was a beautiful blend of love, laughter, and the kind of joy that sticks with you long after the day is over.

The weather couldn’t have been more perfect. The sun was shining, the sky was crystal clear, and although the ocean breeze brought a touch of wind, it only added to the dreamy beach vibe. Their ceremony took place right on the sand, with the waves crashing gently in the background and the light catching just right—truly a photographer’s dream!

Sheena looked absolutely radiant, and the way Ryan looked at her? Pure love. Aden brought such a sweet presence to the day, and watching them all together was such a

beautiful reminder of what this day was really about—family, connection, and celebration.

After the heartfelt ceremony, the reception kicked off in full swing. The energy was amazing—dancing, laughter, and so many moments filled with genuine happiness. Every guest brought their own spark, and the entire evening felt like a true celebration of love and life by the sea.

Get to know Whitney & Michael:

How/when did you meet each other: 12/29/10 - We met in Detroit at Joe Lewis Arena. We were both there with our best friends to watch the Great Lakes Invitational. Whitney, was with her sister and her friend Phil and Mike was with his best friend Shane. Shane and Phil played hockey together so we met through them.
How did he propose: On a mountain in Keystone, CO. It was beautiful in the snow, day after valentines day and two days before our birthdays.
What do you love about each other:
Michael about Whitney: spontaneous energy, joy for life and having fun
Whitney about Michael: His kind heart, passion for life, and positive/calm energy
Interests/hobbies you enjoy doing together: Boating, Hiking in the Mountains, Good night out for food and drinks, great cocktails, and Sunday fundays watching football and chilling.

Their bohemian, tropical inspired wedding was the perfect way to celebrate their love for each other… it was laid back and filled with sweet moments. Whitney has the most amazing laugh, it fills up a room and from the start of the day we could feel their love all around. We could not have asked for a better beach day, the sunset was perfect and their love shined through beautifully. Cheers to an amazing couple! Whitney & Michael ❤

Nina + Cyress Step Into The Limelight | The Orlo | Tampa, FL

The sweetest of people, contagious joy, relentless emotions, meaningful traditions and a strong core foundation. All one needs to embark on an unforgettable journey.

Nina & Cyress met at barber school in 2014 and saw themselves in love and full of love to give in Bangkok Thailand as Cyress proposed to Nina.  

Cyress is from Thailand and Nina’s family is from Cuba, their entire wedding day was filled with cultural heritage and traditions, from the groom’s attire to a traditional Thailand dance to the guava treats and cafe con leche during the reception. Witnessing these two families seamlessly embrace each other’s culture was magic 💕

Nina’s vision for her wedding day was a tropical, modern,clean and warm look with wild colors and simple greenery + palms - I think they nailed it! We felt ALL of that! Every little detail was elegant yet easy.

We felt so much love, gentleness and we truly love watching how Nina + Cyress loved on each guest ensuring their gratitude,  it truly was a sight to see {everyone deserves a tight hug from Nina!}
