Kelsey + Peter Step Into The Limelight | Safety Harbor Resort & Spa | Safety Harbor, FL

A Classic Coastal Celebration at Safety Harbor Resort and Spa

On May 23, 2025, Kelsey and Peter brought their energy, style, and a bit of Gator pride to the west coast of Florida for a celebration that was anything but ordinary. Limelight was there to document every moment! From the unexpected venue change to one of the most memorable dance floor finales we've seen this year.

Peter proposed during Thanksgiving 2023, right in the middle of their annual family brunch at the Avila Country Club in Tampa. After popping the question, the two stepped inside to find Kelsey’s family waiting to celebrate. It set the tone for what would be a wedding filled with strong family connections and big moments.

Originally planned for The Rusty Pelican, the wedding had to be relocated just weeks before the big day due to recent hurricane damage. With quick thinking and flexibility, Kelsey and Peter shifted their celebration to Safety Harbor Resort and Spa, a historic property on the opposite side of the bay. The venue’s staff made the transition seamless, and the ceremony and reception spaces more than delivered!

The couple chose a coastal palette of Seaglass and Bright Navy Blue, which played beautifully against the backdrop of Old Tampa Bay. The ceremony was held outside, with waterfront views and a slight breeze that made it feel effortless. Kelsey’s grandfather walked her down the aisle, a moment that had many guests (and Peter) visibly moved.

Portraits were taken in the venue’s Tranquility Garden, a hidden courtyard featuring stone pathways, tree cover, and a central fountain fed by natural mineral springs. It gave us the ideal setting for bridal party photos, family formals, and golden-hour portraits of the bride and groom.

The reception leaned into a mix of classic, glamorous, and high-energy. The Bay Kings Band brought a level of performance that kept the crowd engaged all night. One standout moment? The Isley Brothers’ “SHOUT!” had everyone on their feet—complete with a full-blown Florida Gator chomp led by the band and joined by Kelsey and Peter onstage. It was loud, hilarious, and a perfect reflection of the couple’s personality.

For dessert, they kept it traditional with a classic wedding cake—but also added a nod to their Gator fandom with a custom cupcake cake shaped like an alligator, complete with green icing and unmistakable team spirit.

This wasn’t just a wedding that came together despite challenges—it was one that fully embraced them and ended up being stronger (and more fun) for it!

Kelsey and Peter, thanks for letting us be a part of it. You made the day yours, and it shows in every frame.

A Love Story Filled with Laughs, Pickleball, and FSU Spirit

They met the way some of the best love stories begin, casually, unexpectedly, and right in the middle of real life. It was 2019, during their undergrad years at Florida State University. No dramatic music or cinematic moment, just two people whose paths crossed between classes and campus life, and from that first connection, something just worked.

Over time, their bond grew stronger, built on shared values, deep vulnerability, and an incredible ability to make each other laugh. Whether they’re on the pickleball court, at the gym, cheering on their beloved Seminoles, or exploring new foodie spots during happy hour, they’ve always been perfectly in sync.

When he proposed with a romantic beach picnic, it felt like the most natural next chapter in their story, personal, heartfelt, and full of love.

Their wedding day was everything they envisioned: minimal, timeless, and elegant, with a beautiful body of water as the ceremony backdrop (because yes, it really does look amazing in the photos!). But what made it truly unforgettable was the way these two simply lit up around each other.

As their photographer, I got to witness the way they looked at one another, like there was no one else in the room. Their smiles seemed to meet and shine together, all day long. Even when I kindly asked them not to kiss too much (to help keep the bride’s lipstick intact!), their joy was impossible to contain.

One of my favorite memories? The bride, looking absolutely stunning in heels, kept laughing and playfully crouching just a bit so she wouldn’t tower over the groom in photos. We all cracked up, it was the kind of laughter that fills the room and makes everyone feel at ease.

And then came Jerusalema and the moment I couldn’t resist. But instead of hitting the dance floor, I found myself dancing in the corner with the groom’s mother, both of us smiling from ear to ear. It was such a simple, joyful moment one of many that made the day feel so full of life and connection.

Beyond the beauty, the elegant details, and the violinist serenading the reception, what made this wedding so special was how true it was to them. A celebration of two people, two cultures, and one incredible love story.

To the newlyweds: I wish you nothing but the most amazing things in life. May the laughter be eternal, and may the kisses never end even if that lipstick needs a little retouching along the way.

Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for letting me be a part of your big day.

Tonya + Chris Step Into The Limelight | Yacht Starship | Tampa, FL

Tonya & Chris – A Yacht Wedding Full of Love, Laughter, and a Little Bit of Wobble

Some love stories feel like poetry. Tonya and Chris? They’re a whole playlist, romantic, joyful, and impossible not to dance along with.

These two had known each other for years through their children, but it wasn’t until May 2022 that the universe decided to give their story the spotlight. Thanks to some well-placed friends, they reconnected and quickly became inseparable. From concerts to traveling adventures and quiet days just enjoying each other's company, their journey since that first date on May 21, 2022, has been full of unforgettable moments.

They made it official (and tear-jerkingly sweet!) on November 25, 2023, surrounded by family and friends when Chris popped the question. And let me tell you, their destination wedding aboard a yacht on April 26, 2025, was nothing short of magical.

Photographing their wedding was an absolute dream although I’d be lying if I said I didn’t almost fall over at least five times thanks to the gentle, rocking of the boat! But hey, I survived with my gear intact and a heart full of joy.

The energy that day was contagious. Everyone had a glow, a sparkle in their eyes that said, “These two are something special.” Even the sunset seemed to agree it showed off with such beauty and harmony that it felt like the sky was serenading us with the most beautiful love song ever written.

And then there’s her gaze oh, the way Tonya’s eyes light up when she looks at Chris. That kind of sparkle can’t be faked. It’s the kind of look that says, “There you are. My person.” Watching her look at him was like watching love itself unfold pure, honest, and beautiful beyond words.

And then came the moment: Tonya and Chris’s private last dance. Just the two of them swaying gently as the boat rocked and the stars peeked out above it was pure magic. As a photographer, I get to witness a lot of beautiful things, but this moment? This one will stay with me.

I’m beyond grateful to have been a part of their big day. Tonya and Chris, thank you for trusting me to capture your love, your laughter, and yes, even my almost-slips onboard!

Wishing you a lifetime of happiness, spontaneous adventures, and sunsets that keep singing your song.

Mariana + Austin Step Into The Limelight | Hotel Haya + Yacht Starship | Tampa, FL

Mariana and Austin’s wedding was the perfect blend of elegance, joy, and waterfront magic, unfolding in two of Tampa’s most beautiful locations.

The day began at the stylish and charming Hotel Haya in the heart of Ybor City. With its modern touches and vintage soul, the hotel set the tone for a day full of love and celebration. Mariana got ready surrounded by her closest friends, laughter echoing through the suite as makeup brushes swept and champagne flutes clinked. Meanwhile, Austin was just a few floors away, calm and collected, sharing a toast with his groomsmen as the anticipation built.

Their first look took place in the beautiful ballroom hall of Hotel Haya. a moment that felt both intimate and cinematic. As Austin turned to see Mariana for the first time in her gown, time seemed to pause. Their smiles, the soft breeze, the golden Tampa light, it was everything a first look should be: raw, emotional, and unforgettable.

From there, the celebration moved to the water aboard the Yacht StarShip, where the ceremony and reception took place. As guests boarded, they were greeted with panoramic views of Tampa Bay, setting the scene for a sunset ceremony unlike any other. Surrounded by water, with the city skyline in the background, Mariana and Austin exchanged vows on the top deck as the sun dipped low and cast a golden glow over everything.

Once they were officially husband and wife, the party truly began. The Yacht StarShip transformed into a floating celebration — dining, dancing, and starlit moments shared with loved ones. The breeze, the music, the sparkle in everyone’s eyes — it was a night of joy that no one wanted to end.

From the timeless elegance of Hotel Haya to the romantic cruise on the bay, Mariana and Austin’s wedding was more than just a day, it was a story, a dream, and a beautiful beginning!!

Haley + Tyler Step Into The Limelight | Armature Works | Tampa, FL

A Timeless, Yet Modern Love Story at Armature Works

There’s something so special about couples who are simply and deeply comfortable with each other — and Haley and Tyler embody that beautifully. From the moment I met them at Armature Works on their wedding day, I could feel the calm confidence they bring to their relationship — grounded, easy, and full of joy.

Their wedding was the perfect reflection of who they are: classic, laid-back, and deeply in love. From neutral florals to black-tie attire, every element felt intentional. The ceremony took place indoors at the beautiful Armature Works. As a Tampa photographer who’s captured many weddings in this beautiful city, I can honestly say this Tampa wedding venue was the perfect backdrop for this kind of relaxed, timeless celebration.

What stood out most was the way they looked at each other — especially as Haley walked down the aisle. That moment, with their loved ones surrounding them, was pure magic. Capturing those wedding candids and emotional reactions is what I love most about photojournalistic photography — real, unscripted moments that tell the heart of the story.

Haley and Tyler’s vows were filled with tenderness and laughter. And when it came time for their first dance during the reception, you could see just how much fun they have together — always exploring, always laughing, always in sync. They’re self-proclaimed foodies who love discovering new restaurants and adventures together, and that same energy was felt throughout the evening as they danced the night away with friends and family.

From the black-tie palette to the simple yet elegant table settings and florals, everything was beautifully curated without feeling overdone. Their vision of a timeless, yet modern style came to life effortlessly, creating a warm, emotional atmosphere that made guests feel excited, happy, and deeply moved.

As a storyteller behind the lens, moments like these are what I live for — capturing the love, laughter, and little glances that say everything without words. Haley and Tyler, thank you for letting me be part of your day. Your wedding was a true celebration of your journey together, and it was an honor to preserve those memories through wedding photography in Tampa.
