Limelight Photography 2026 Team Retreat: Learning, Creating & Connecting

From August 14–16, 2026, the Limelight Photography team gathered in Odessa, Florida for our annual team retreat… three days dedicated to learning, creating, connecting, and continuing to grow together as a team.
As a Florida wedding photography and videography team, we believe that becoming better creatives means never stopping the learning process. This year's retreat focused on the how: how we can create more consistently, communicate better, support one another, and continue raising the standard for the couples who trust us with their wedding days.

Golden Hour Training at Lake Dan Nature Preserve

One of the highlights of the weekend was our on-site photography, videography and content creation training at Lake Dan on Saturday evening.
We opened a model call to couples from different parts of the Limelight community,  including past clients, current and upcoming clients, and couples who had never worked with us before. More than 30 couples responded, and we ultimately selected three couples to join us for an evening of shooting, experimenting, and learning.
Each couple was photographed by different members of our creative team, allowing our photographers and content creators to practice posing, lighting, composition, and storytelling in a real-world setting.
And while the session was part of our training, the couples brought something even more meaningful to the experience: their stories.

Ann & Bobby: A Full-Circle Limelight Story

Ann and Bobby's story brought us all the way back to 2009.
They have been married for 17 years, and we originally photographed their wedding on August 1, 2009, with Sarah McDonald as their photographer. Since their wedding day, they hadn't had professional photographs taken together.
Their story began long before their wedding. They first knew each other as teenagers, became friends, dated, spent some time apart, and eventually found their way back to one another.
Getting to photograph them again after 17 years was an incredibly special full-circle moment, especially during a year when Limelight is celebrating 20 years.
It was a beautiful reminder of how wedding photography can become part of a couple's story long after the wedding day is over.

Monique & Terrence: Love Through Every Season

Monique and Terrence are celebrating 10 years together this October. Their relationship began at church, and over the years, they have continued to choose one another through different seasons of life.
Their story is a reminder that a photograph doesn't have to capture only the easy moments. Sometimes, the most meaningful images are the ones that celebrate everything a couple has experienced and grown through together.
We also discovered that Monique is a Tampa-based hairstylist and makeup artist, making her a fellow wedding-industry creative. It was especially fun connecting with someone who understands the behind-the-scenes work that goes into creating beautiful wedding days for couples.
Their golden-hour session was a beautiful celebration of their relationship, their journey, and the life they've built together.

Vanessa & Jackson: A Fresh Perspective

Vanessa and Jackson brought a younger, fresh energy to our model call. As an engaged couple, we loved the opportunity to photograph a new generation of couples and explore how our team can create imagery that feels natural, genuine, and current.
We had noticed through social media that they were already comfortable in front of the camera, but we didn't know we'd discover another Limelight connection once we arrived.
Vanessa and Jackson happened to be mutuals with some of our photographers from their university days — a fun surprise that made the evening feel even more connected.
They were incredibly easy to photograph and spent much of their session working with our content creation team, bringing a playful and relaxed energy to the shoot.

More Than a Photography Training Session

What began as a model call became one of our favorite parts of the 2026 retreat.
Three couples. Three different stories. Three different seasons of life.
And behind every camera was a Limelight creative learning from another Limelight creative.
After 20 years of photographing weddings and events throughout Florida, we know there is always more to learn. Our photographers, cinematographers, content creators, editors, and leadership team came together not only to improve our craft, but to learn from one another.
Our couples may see one photographer or filmmaker on their wedding day, but behind that person is an entire team committed to creating, communicating, and growing together.

We are incredibly grateful to Ann & Bobby, Monique & Terrence, and Vanessa & Jackson for trusting us with this evening and becoming part of our 2026 Limelight story.

Here's to 20 years — and to everything still ahead. ♥

Love,
Rebecca, Zairah & Dafne

Bambi + Barry Step Into The Limelight | The St. Petersburg Yacht Club, FL

Twenty Years, One Beautiful Legacy: Bambi & Barry’s Anniversary Celebration

There are anniversary parties… and then there are celebrations that feel like stepping into a living, breathing love story.

Bambi and Barry’s 20th anniversary at the St. Petersburg Yacht Club was the latter.

From the moment guests arrived, it was clear this wasn’t just a party—it was a tribute to two decades of marriage, memory, and meaning, layered with intentional details that told their story in the most unforgettable way. The waterfront setting offered a soft, golden backdrop as the evening unfolded, setting the tone for a night that felt both elegant and deeply personal.

Before entering the ballroom, guests were welcomed through a breathtaking set of flower arches—lush, romantic, and perfectly framing the start of the evening. Our team had the honor of photographing each couple as they passed through, capturing not just their presence, but their connection. It became a meaningful thread of the night—documenting the people who have walked alongside Bambi and Barry throughout their twenty-year journey.

One of the most striking nods to their journey together was the castle-shaped ice sculpture—a stunning homage to their wedding in Scotland twenty years prior. It stood as both a visual centerpiece and a symbolic anchor, quietly reminding everyone in the room of where it all began. Nearby, the unmistakable sound of a bagpiper carried through the air, transporting guests across the Atlantic for a brief, emotional moment that felt timeless.

But what made the evening truly come alive was its sense of movement and surprise.

A champagne-skirted hostess floated effortlessly through the crowd, offering glasses with a touch of theatrical charm. A wandering magician weaved from group to group, leaving guests in awe with close-up illusions that sparked laughter and disbelief. Every corner of the celebration held something unexpected—something designed not just to entertain, but to engage.

And then there was the music.

Something Major took the stage and transformed the energy of the room, filling the dance floor and carrying the night into full celebration mode. It was impossible not to feel the joy—palpable, contagious, and shared by every guest in attendance.

Through it all, what stood out most wasn’t just the grandeur or the creativity—it was the connection. The way Bambi and Barry looked at each other. The way their guests showed up for them. The way every detail, from Scotland to St. Pete, felt like a thread in a much larger story.

At Limelight Photography, these are the moments we live to capture—the ones that go beyond the surface and reflect something real, lasting, and deeply human.

Because twenty years isn’t just a milestone.

It’s a legacy.

As Florida event photographers, we specialize in capturing elevated celebrations like this—from waterfront venues in St. Petersburg to luxury events across Tampa Bay and beyond. Whether it’s an anniversary, corporate gathering, or once-in-a-lifetime celebration, our team is dedicated to documenting every detail with intention, artistry, and a deep understanding of what matters most.

Stephanie + Brian Step Into The Limeilght | Sugar Beach | St. Lucia

Stephanie and Brian celebrated their 10th wedding anniversary by vacationing in beautiful Saint Lucia 🇱🇨 This wasn’t just any vacation, it was their FIRST getaway as a couple since they have been married!

Life keeps them busy between four kids and managing 40,000 head of steer 🐄 in Oklahoma! We strolled along Sugar Beach and enjoyed getting to know each other as we basked in the glory of the Pitons scraping the skies behind us. We felt God whisper in these special moments, and I loved capturing their love!

Not only was this session a beautiful moment to slow down and embrace one another and the love that they’ve cultivated over the last 10 years of marriage, but also a celebration of the happy years of marriage (and hopefully many more vacations!) to come.

As a St. Lucia photographer, I love capturing sessions here along the sands of Sugar Beach—it is always a stunning backdrop to the love between couples and families alike. Thank you to Stephanie and Brian for trusting me to capture this milestone for them!!

Jodi + Clayton Step Into The Limelight | Sugar Beach | St. Lucia

A Love That Lasts

As a St. Lucia photographer and Viceroy’s preferred vendor, I have the honor of witnessing some of life’s most beautiful love stories unfold in one of the most breathtaking places on Earth. Jodi and Clayton’s session at Sugar Beach was one of those unforgettable moments that reminded me why I do what I do.

These two have a love story that spans decades. Jodi and Clayton met nearly 30 years ago as correctional officers in Texas, but Clayton fondly recalls seeing her even earlier—during their college years in a Kroger parking lot. He says she made an impression even back then. Clearly, she never stopped making an impression.

To celebrate 20 years of marriage, they traveled all the way to Saint Lucia, and it was such a joy to capture this incredible milestone. Originally scheduled for a sunset session, they quickly learned that the roads in St. Lucia—with their winding mountain passes and breathtaking cliffside views—can stretch your travel time quite a bit. With a flexible attitude and great humor, Jodi and Clayton opted to move the shoot to the following morning—and what a blessing that turned out to be.

We hiked down to the iconic Sugar Beach, nestled between the majestic Gros Piton and Petit Piton, inside a protected UNESCO World Heritage Site. As a Sugar Beach photographer, I can honestly say the light here in the early morning is magic. The Pitons glowed softly in the golden hour light, the sea shimmered, and we were gifted not one, not two—but three rainbows during their session! It felt like a divine celebration of their journey and devotion.

And let me talk about style for a second—because these two showed up in serious elegance. Clayton wore a sharp baby blue suit that popped beautifully against the white sand and turquoise water. Jodi looked like a dream in a pastel ball gown, her skirt flowing in the breeze like a watercolor painting. Her crimped mermaid waves were everything—soft, romantic, and perfectly island-chic.

There’s something so special about celebrating marriage—not just the beginning of it, but the strength and connection that grows over time. Jodi and Clayton radiated that unshakable bond. Every glance, every laugh between them held the kind of love that only comes from years of growing, evolving, and choosing each other over and over again.

Whether you’re planning a St. Lucia wedding, dreaming of family portraits in Saint Lucia, or simply looking to document your love story, I’d be honored to help you tell it—beautifully, naturally, and full of heart.

Thank you, Jodi and Clayton, for sharing your story with me. Your laughter, your love, and those rainbow blessings made this session truly unforgettable.
