Patricia Steps Into The Limelight | Island Grande at TradeWinds | St. Pete Beach, FL

St. Pete Beach is one of Florida’s most breathtaking locations for:

✔️ Milestone birthday photography
✔️ Family beach portraits
✔️ Anniversary sessions
✔️ Multi-generational family photography
✔️ Destination celebrations

With its soft white sand, warm Gulf sunsets, and iconic resorts, it provides the perfect backdrop for beautiful life celebrations.

For Ms. Patricia’s 70th birthday, her family chose Island Grande at TradeWinds (one of the most sought-after venues on Florida’s Gulf Coast) for both her portrait session and formal celebration!

Professional Portrait Session at Island Grande of TradeWinds

On the first evening, I led a sunset portrait session directly on St. Pete Beach.

As the sun set over the Gulf of Mexico, Patricia and her family shared laughter, movement, and joy, resulting in authentic portraits filled with warmth and life.

A Luxury Birthday Celebration with Cultural Performances

The following evening, Patricia’s formal birthday dinner and celebration took place at Island Grande at TradeWinds… and it exceeded all expectations for the best birthday celebration ever.

Guests were treated to:

✨ Belly dancers
✨ Hip hop performances
✨ Samba dancers
✨ Live music and choreography
✨ Immersive entertainment

Each performance added layers of excitement and artistry, making the evening feel more like a luxury destination event than a traditional birthday party. One of the evening’s most meaningful dances came when Mrs. Patricia appeared in a custom sequined costume inspired by the Jamaican flag, honoring her roots and her remarkable journey: born in Jamaica, boldly immigrating to America at just thirteen in search of a better life, where she built a legacy of love, marriage, and motherhood to her two sons.  🇯🇲

Emotional Tribute: Honoring Family and Faith

One of the most moving moments came when Patricia’s eldest sister performed “Wind Beneath My Wings” in tribute to their late mother. As the final notes filled the room, Patricia stepped behind her wearing angel wings. The entire room was moved to tears. It was a sacred reminder that photography is not just about images, but also about preserving meaning.

Surprise Vow Renewal: Celebrating Marriage and Commitment

Just when guests thought the evening had reached its emotional peak, Patricia surprised everyone with a wedding vow renewal.

After quietly changing into her fourth outfit of the weekend, she returned in a wedding gown to reaffirm her commitment to her husband. It became the perfect conclusion to a weekend rooted in love, perseverance, and gratitude.

National Watermelon Association Steps Into The Limelight | Innisbrook Gulf Resort + TradeWinds Island Resort | St. Pete Beach, FL

When people think of corporate events, they don’t always picture energy, color, and a whole lot of personality… but this past weekend with the National Watermelon Association at the TradeWinds Island Grand Resort was exactly that and more.

As Lead Photographer for Limelight Photography, I had the honor of covering a full, long weekend of events — and from the very first cocktail hour to the crowning of a brand-new Watermelon Queen, it was nonstop fun, connection, and celebration!

The festivities kicked off with intimate cocktail hours overlooking the beautiful St. Pete Beach. These opening events are some of my favorites to photograph. The energy is relaxed, conversations are flowing, and everyone is excited to reconnect. From candid laughter between growers and industry leaders to the subtle details — watermelon-themed décor, branded signage, and signature drinks — the tone was set for a weekend that balanced professionalism with personality. Throughout the weekend, sessions and meetings brought together professionals from across the watermelon industry. My goal during this portion of coverage is always the same: document connection, leadership, and momentum. There’s something powerful about capturing moments that show collaboration in action — handshakes, engaged discussions, proud smiles during presentations. These are the images that tell the story of an organization moving forward together. The lighting inside the venue spaces at Trade Winds gave us a clean, polished look, while still allowing space for those authentic, candid interactions.

As the weekend built toward its grand evening celebration, the atmosphere shifted — and so did the energy.

The ballroom transformed into a vibrant, elegant setting for the highlight of the event: the crowning of the new Watermelon Queen. The anticipation in the room was undeniable. Finalists stood poised and radiant. Supporters cheered. Cameras flashed. And when the announcement was made, the reaction was everything — joy, pride, and a moment that will live on far beyond that stage. Capturing a crowning moment is about more than just the tiara placement. It’s about freezing the emotion — the deep breath before the name is called, the sparkle in someone’s eyes, the embrace that follows.

Those are the frames that matter most!

To the National Watermelon Association: thank you for an unforgettable weekend. And to everyone who made the event so lively and welcoming — you proved that corporate can absolutely mean colorful, celebratory, and full of great vibes!

Nicole + David Step Into The Limelight | Tradewinds Island Resort | St. Petersburg Beach, FL

On May 23, 2017, Nicole and David met via a dating app. Three years later, David got down on one knee and asked Nicole to marry him in their home. She said yes (of course) which brings us to today!
On normal days, Nicole and David can be found enjoying the outdoors. They love biking, paddle boarding, beach biking and more!
Nicole and David said their “I Do’s” on the beautiful St. Pete Beach. The day was surrounded by love, joy and laughter. Days before, the weather was a little iffy but on the day, the sky was stunning. They were even blessed with one of St. Pete’s famous sunsets. Congrats!

Missy + Cameron Step Into The Limelight | TradeWinds Resort | St. Petersburg, FL

Missy & Cameron’s LOVE story:

How/when did you meet each other:: Cameron and Missy do not agree on the timeline of how they met, but they can agree that they are so happy they did! Cameron claims dancing in a large group of people at a wedding counts, but Missy does not. Cameron was covered in poison ivy and refused to introduce himself. After a few weeks, Missy was swiping away on a dating app and came across Cameron. Turns out he "accidentally" super liked her, and she decided to give him a chance. After a year and a half of a long distance relationship, Cameron and Missy decided to move into their new home in Mt. Airy, Maryland to start their lives together.

How did he propose:: We always visit Cameron's parents in Florida during our winter break and his aunt and uncle had just bought a condo in Clearwater, FL. Cameron and his sister came up with the brilliant idea to drive down to Clearwater to see the new condo and also explore the beach. The whole drive down threatened rain and Cam and Nicole kept going back and forth on what we should do first: eat lunch or visit the beach. I didn't care either way. Meanwhile, Cameron is sweating through his shirt and I was still clueless. We arrive in Clearwater and the day is beautiful so we decided to walk along the beach first. As we approach the beach, Cam and Nicole are complaining about how crowded the beach is. For me, it was like 10 people max, that is not crowded in my opinion, I was thinking they are crazy. So, we start walking along the beach and Cameron stops walking at one point. I stop too, thinking we might take a picture here and I'm just staring off at the gulf. I turn around and Cameron has a ring box and is getting down on one knee. Once I see him I shout, "No, what are you doing?!" This of course confuses him as I shouted "no". He still manages to ask me to marry him and at this point I'm crying and can't speak. I walk to him and kiss him, still haven't said "yes", until he finally asks, "so, is that a yes?" and I manage to nod my head and give him a shaky, "yes!"

What do you love about each other:: Cameron is my person. After our first date, I knew he was someone I could see myself with. We spent 5+ hours just sitting at the bar talking and it was so easy. I had never felt more comfortable on a first date in my life. He allows me to be myself and he brings out the best in me. He can read me so easily and knows exactly what I need. He makes me feel safe, he makes me laugh, he makes me feel loved, he makes me happy.

What I love the most about Missy is how we get along so well. Our personalities are a perfect match. We laugh and joke together as if we have known each other our whole lives. She's caring. She's loving. She make me want to be a better person. I am lucky to be able to spend the rest of my life with Missy, someone I love and care about so much.

Interests/hobbies you enjoy doing together:: We love to explore new places, go for hikes with our dog (Koda), lay on the couch and watch Netflix, play Mario Party, hang out with friends. Cameron is trying to get me into golf, but after 3 years, I'm still not very good (to be fair I only really play when we visit Florida).

Oh how we LOVED meeting these two so much! They are both super laid back and so much fun! The made sure tp enjoy every single aspect of their day… this included enjoying some quality time with each guest and family member who attended. We loved seeing them take their time and go teach table to make sure to talk to everyone. We loved witnessing these two say their vows and just enjoy being together… congratulations to an amazing couple, we wish you both ALL the best!

Lynn + Frank Step Into The Limelight | TRADEWINDS ISLAND RESORT | ST. PETE BEACH, FL

Lynn and Frank met four years ago when Frank went to Lynn’s house for snow removal. After that, a mutual friend set them up a few months later and they haven’t looked back since!

What they love the most about each other is that they both make each other laugh and they both love the outdoors. Frank decided to get down on one knee and propose to Lynn one evening after they went out to eat.

Their wedding was a laid back and fun affair at the TradeWinds Island Resort with their family and closest friends present. The beach vibe set the tone for a relaxed, barefoot, fun celebration!
