As a Tampa, FL Wedding Photographer, there are some days that just stay with you, and Olga and Matt’s wedding in Downtown Tampa was one of them. From the very beginning, their vision was clear: classic, elegant, timeless… and above all, filled with love.

Their story started with a surprise setup by Stefanie (married to Matt’s brother Andrew), and from that unexpected introduction came a love that feels beautifully steady and intentional. On their three-year anniversary, Matt proposed along the Tampa Riverwalk under a gazebo glowing with Christmas lights after dinner at Rocca. As he got down on one knee, both of their families popped out to celebrate.

Matt calls Olga his “sunshine with legs,” and honestly… it couldn’t be more accurate. She lights up every room she walks into. Olga shared that what she loves most about Matt is how calm and centering he is. He’s sweet, patient, and grounding in all the best ways. Together, they balance each other effortlessly. They love cooking and traveling, but what stood out most to me is that they are truly best friends. Anything is better when they’re together.

Choosing Oxford Exchange for their Tampa, FL Wedding was a natural fit. They were drawn to the history, warmth, and classic architecture of the building, wanting photos they would still adore 30 years from now. And let me tell you… every detail delivered.

The day began in the most intimate way possible: private vows, just the two of them. It was quiet, emotional, and incredibly powerful. Later, Olga shared a beautiful first look with her dad (there were definitely tears behind my camera), and then we moved into a heartfelt ceremony that included a unity candle lighting with both sets of parents — symbolizing not just their marriage, but the blending of two wonderful families.

One of my favorite moments? Watching them walk down the stairs and repeat their vows while exchanging rings. It felt sacred. Intentional. Real.

Personal Touches & Meaningful Details

Olga and Matt DIY’d their entire invitation suite together (a true labor of love!), and incorporated meaningful cultural touches like Greek olive oil bottles and Jordan almonds as favors. Every element reflected who they are: thoughtful, family-centered, and full of heart.

When they were officially announced husband and wife, the joy in that room was undeniable. And once the reception began? Pure celebration. Their first dance, followed by a packed dance floor with every single one of their favorite people, made the night unforgettable.

Their goal was simple: to create a night overflowing with love and joy. And standing there capturing every embrace, every laugh, every tear through my lens in true Candid Photography style — I can confidently say they did exactly that.

On February 20th, Amy and Derek celebrated their love with a beautifully intimate wedding at the breathtaking Sunken Gardens. With the gardens in full seasonal bloom and golden winter sunlight filtering through the trees, the day was nothing short of magical.

February is one of the most sought-after months for a Florida garden wedding, and Amy and Derek couldn’t have chosen a more perfect day. The weather was mild, the skies were clear, and the lush botanical scenery created a naturally stunning backdrop. As the sun set over the Gulf of Mexico, Patricia and her family shared laughter, movement, and joy, resulting in authentic portraits filled with warmth and life.

The following evening, Patricia’s formal birthday dinner and celebration took place at Island Grande at TradeWinds… and it exceeded all expectations for the best birthday celebration ever.

One of the evening’s most meaningful dances came when Mrs. Patricia appeared in a custom sequined costume inspired by the Jamaican flag, honoring her roots and her remarkable journey: born in Jamaica, boldly immigrating to America at just thirteen in search of a better life, where she built a legacy of love, marriage, and motherhood to her two sons.  🇯🇲

Emotional Tribute: Honoring Family and Faith

One of the most moving moments came when Patricia’s eldest sister performed “Wind Beneath My Wings” in tribute to their late mother. As the final notes filled the room, Patricia stepped behind her wearing angel wings. The entire room was moved to tears. It was a sacred reminder that photography is not just about images, but also about preserving meaning.

Surprise Vow Renewal: Celebrating Marriage and Commitment

Just when guests thought the evening had reached its emotional peak, Patricia surprised everyone with a wedding vow renewal.

After quietly changing into her fourth outfit of the weekend, she returned in a wedding gown to reaffirm her commitment to her husband. It became the perfect conclusion to a weekend rooted in love, perseverance, and gratitude.

The theme, “Are You Up for the Challenge?”, invited Tampa Bay’s top event professionals to design extraordinary tablescapes under pressure. Participants collaborated in teams, combining floral design, linens, lighting, and décor to create experiences that wowed. This high-energy, interactive event celebrated teamwork and imagination — everything that makes Tampa Bay’s event community so dynamic.

From elegant champagne tones and lush floral textures to dramatic, modern color palettes, each team showcased a unique style worthy of the coveted Golden NACE Charger. We loved photographing not only the end results but also the behind-the-scenes action: hands styling centerpieces, sparks of laughter during creative breakthroughs, and that unmistakable sense of camaraderie that fuels the event industry.

After the design competition, the room transformed into a celebration over a delectable lunch catered by Delectables Fine Catering. Conversation and collaboration continued as peers shared insights and inspiration, connecting with others shaping the future of Tampa Bay’s wedding and event scene.
